Our Story

Vina Andrico traces its beginnings to 2007 when we planted our vines in the Los Chacayes region of the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina and released our first vintage of Vina Andrico Gran Reserva Malbec in 2012. Over the years we’ve been fortunate to meet many talented winemakers and tasted many awesome small production, artisanal Argentine wines with exceptional character, structure and varietal expression. These small producers, however, have had no outlets for distribution in the United States until now.

We formed Pioneer Vintages, a licensed Colorado Wine Distributor in 2016 so we could share these special wines with you. We’re dedicated to bringing top quality, award winning limited production wines to Colorado. Our mission is to source small producers of hand crafted wines that define the regional Mendoza style.

Talented Winemakers, Small Production, Exceptional Quality

We distribute only Malbec and Malbec blends that we are passionate about ourselves.

From refined and elegant to bold and opulent, these wines balance finesse with the raw flavors of the varietal allowing the fruit to speak for itself.

When appropriate, our winemakers are employing exciting vinification techniques to the varietals including: partial barrel fermentations, whole cluster fermentations, battonage, etc. We’re realizing interesting tannin structures, textures and mouth feels.

The wines typically pair well with game, grilled meats, pasta and other substantial foods. We constantly taste our wines to understand and appreciate stylistic differences and monitor all vintages as they continue to evolve to most effectively represent our producers and properly represent our wines.

The wines in our portfolio will typically have limited or no other distribution in the USA as production ranges from 1,200 to 4,000 bottles per vintage. Availability is limited and we won’t release a wine before we feel it’s ready to enjoy.
